Ktm Adventure 390 X

The Ktm Adventure 390 X has a top speed of 167 km/h (estimated, note: off-road gearing may slightly reduce top speed vs standard 390 Adventure), produces 43 hp and weighs 179 kg. Motoryk rates it 7.8/10.

⚙️

Off-Road Ready Stock

The 390 Adventure X ships with spoke wheels, a longer suspension travel (200mm front/177mm rear), and knobby tires — making it genuinely capable off-road without expensive aftermarket upgrades.

🔧

Watch the Valve Intervals

The high-revving 373cc single-cylinder engine requires valve clearance checks every 15,000 km, which owners often overlook — skipping this can lead to costly top-end damage over time.

💰

Strong Resale Value

KTM Adventure models hold resale value well in the mid-size adventure segment, especially the X variant, as demand for affordable dual-sport bikes remains consistently high.

8.2/10

7.8/10
Idéal pour
Intermediate riders wanting real off-road capability cheaply

"A serious small-ADV bargain, if you find a maintained one."

$4,500-$6,500 used

The 390 Adventure X is genuinely one of the most interesting small-displacement adventure bikes to hit the used market. KTM crammed proper off-road intent into this thing — wire-spoke wheels, longer suspension travel, and that punchy 373cc single that revs like it's angry at something. Used examples are starting to appear in the $4,500-$6,500 range and honestly represent decent value if you find a clean one. Check the chain and sprockets first — owners who thrash these off-road often neglect basic maintenance. The motor is bulletproof if serviced properly, but KTM's service intervals are tight. Ask for receipts. Electronics are surprisingly sophisticated for the price — cornering ABS, multiple riding modes, switchable traction control. It all works. Seat height catches people out though; 855mm is genuinely tall and the suspension doesn't compress much when you're sitting still. Shorter riders struggle. Used buying tip: avoid anything that's been dropped hard in dirt. Check the subframe and forks carefully. These bikes take falls fine, but neglected crash damage compounds quickly.
