Used examples rarely show serious problems if they've had basic maintenance. Where it falls short is character. Ride one back-to-back with a Bonneville or even a Shadow and you'll notice the Vulcan 900 feels a bit anonymous — competent but quiet. The belt drive is low maintenance but limits aftermarket flexibility, and the fuel tank range is disappointing for touring ambitions.
