Yamaha Star Venture 1900 Review
"A legitimate touring weapon if you buy a well-maintained example carefully."
Used Buyer Review
The Star Venture is Yamaha's answer to the touring throne, and honestly? It comes closer than most people give it credit for. The 1854cc parallel-twin pulls hard from low revs with none of that HD shake-and-bake vibration, and the infotainment system was genuinely ahead of its time when these dropped in 2018. Cruise control, heated grips, and that massive fairing make 400-mile days feel like work trips rather than punishment. That said, go in with eyes open on a used example. The infotainment screens are a known weak point — dead pixels and touchscreen dropout are common complaints past 30k miles. Also check the tire wear pattern carefully; owners who ignored the recommended tire pressures tend to run the rear square in a hurry. Budget for a fresh set of shoes if the previous owner wasn't diligent. Electronics gremlins can also surface, so insist on a full function check before handing over cash.
