Triumph Tiger 955i Review
"A flawed but deeply rewarding triple that rewards careful used buying."
Used Buyer Review
The Tiger 955i is one of those bikes that quietly does everything right without shouting about it. Triumph's triple-cylinder engine is the real star here — that 955cc unit pulls hard from low revs and sounds absolutely brilliant doing it. It's not the fastest adventure bike you'll find, but it's one of the most characterful. Fuel injection on later models cleaned up the fuelling issues that plagued the carbed predecessors, so stick to 2002 onwards if you can. Watch for a few specific headaches on used examples. The throttle bodies need regular synchronisation or you'll get surging at low speeds — previous owners often neglect this. Frame corrosion around the headstock is a known issue, so get underneath with a torch before handing over any cash. Cam chain tensioners can rattle on high-mileage engines, and that repair isn't cheap. Service history is non-negotiable here — walk away from any bike without it.
