Used Buyer Review

The Rocket III Roadster is genuinely unlike anything else you'll ride. That 2294cc triple is the party piece โ€” 163ft-lb of torque arrives so low in the rev range it feels almost agricultural, but in the best possible way. It pulls hard from walking pace and never stops. First-time riders picking one up used often underestimate how physically demanding it is to maneuver at low speeds. This thing weighs 320kg wet, and parking lot antics will embarrass you until you learn to work with it. Used examples hold value stubbornly, so don't expect bargains. Check the final drive belt obsessively โ€” they're not cheap and owners sometimes neglect them. The older 2006-2012 bikes had some starter motor issues worth investigating. Post-2020 TFC-era bikes are significantly more sophisticated with better electronics and a genuinely improved chassis, worth paying the premium if your budget allows. Maintenance costs bite harder than most bikes at this price point. Dealer servicing isn't cheap and the engine's sheer mass makes DIY work awkward. But nothing else gives you this presence on the road.

Pros

+Insane torque from idle
+Bulletproof triple engine
+Commanding road presence
+Surprisingly capable cornering
+Strong resale value

Cons

-Brutal low-speed maneuverability
-Expensive dealer servicing
-Thirsty at 35-40mpg
-Belt inspection often neglected
