Used Buyer Review

The Thunderbird TwinSpark is Royal Enfield's cruiser attempt, and honestly it's a decent used buy if you go in with realistic expectations. The 350cc thumper motor got a meaningful upgrade with dual spark plugs โ€” better fuelling, cleaner idle, and noticeably improved cold starts compared to the older single-spark units. It's not fast, but it pulls with that characterful thump that RE riders actually buy these bikes for. Comfortable highway cruiser for moderate distances. Here's the honest part though โ€” used examples are a lottery. Check the electrics obsessively. Wiring issues, indicator stalks cracking, and charging system problems plague neglected examples. Look for oil seepage around the primary chaincase and check if the previous owner actually serviced it on schedule. Well-maintained ones are surprisingly bulletproof; neglected ones become expensive headaches fast. Insist on service history.

Pros

+Genuinely comfortable long-distance riding
+Characterful thumper engine note
+TwinSpark improved reliability significantly
+Parts cheap and widely available
+Relaxed low-stress cruising

Cons

-Electrical gremlins on neglected bikes
-Uninspiring handling dynamics
-Heavy fuel consumption at speed
-Quality control varies significantly
