Used Buyer Review

The V4RR is genuinely special โ€” Norton finally built something that can stand toe-to-toe with Italian exotica, and on paper the 185bhp inline-V4 is sensational. But buying one used requires serious due diligence. Early examples had teething issues with the electronics package and a few owners reported temperamental fuelling at low speeds. Check the service history obsessively โ€” Norton's dealer network is still thin, and out-of-warranty bills are eye-watering. That said, when it's right, it's absolutely right. On the used market you're looking at bikes that have lived hard or babied in a garage. Inspect the Ohlins suspension carefully, check brake disc wear, and make sure the quickshifter operates cleanly in both directions. Bodywork panels are expensive to replace and fragile. Most importantly, verify the VIN against Norton's records โ€” early production numbers were limited and documentation matters for resale. This isn't a commuter or occasional trackday toy. It demands commitment, budget, and mechanical sympathy. Get it right and you own something genuinely rare and extraordinary.
