Ktm Adventure 890 R Rally Review
"The real deal for serious off-road adventurers who can handle it."
Used Buyer Review
The 890 Adventure R Rally is KTM's closest production bike to an actual Dakar weapon, and honestly it shows in every single way — good and bad. That WP XPLOR suspension is genuinely sublime off-road, the 889cc parallel twin pulls hard from low revs, and the lightweight chassis makes it feel half its actual weight on trails. If you're buying used, check the fork seals obsessively, look for crash damage on the bash plate and hand guards, and verify the service history around the 15,000km mark where the valve clearances need attention. Things to know: the seat height will humble you at stops, the tank range is tighter than you'd expect for adventure riding, and previous owners who've done any serious off-road work may have binned it once or twice. Inspect the subframe mounting points carefully. Also budget for better road tyres if you're splitting highway and trail use — the stock Mitas E-07 mix is genuinely compromised on wet tarmac.
