Ktm Adventure 890 Review
"Buy a clean history example and you'll rarely want anything else."
Used Buyer Review
The 890 Adventure hits a sweet spot that bigger GS-fighters often miss — it's genuinely flickable through tight singletrack yet composed enough for proper long-haul touring. That parallel twin pulls hard from 3,500rpm and the WP suspension, once you dial it for your weight, is genuinely excellent. Used examples from 2021-2023 represent serious value right now as the market softened post-pandemic. But go in with eyes open. The orange glow of KTM reliability paranoia is real here. Check the throttle body connections — they corrode and cause gremlins. The chain and sprockets eat themselves if previous owners neglected lubing duty on gravel roads. Pull the seat and inspect the airbox area for mud packing, which kills battery connections. Service history is non-negotiable on these; a mystery-history bike isn't worth the gamble. Get one with the R suspension package if you can, skip the base. Budget £500 for a proper service, guards, and hand protection regardless of how clean it looks. Sorted ones are genuinely brilliant machines.
