Used Buyer Review

The Night Rod is the black sheep Harley that actual Harley guys either love or pretend doesn't exist. Powered by the Porsche-developed Revolution engine, this thing pulls hard and revs like nothing else wearing an H-D badge โ€” 1250cc of water-cooled muscle that'll embarrass sportbikes off the line. It's genuinely quick, handles decently for its size, and sounds absolutely menacing at full chat. Buying used, check the rear tire clearance obsessively โ€” owners love fitting oversized rubber that eventually contacts the swingarm. The forward controls murder your knees on anything over two hours, and finding a comfortable riding position is basically a negotiation. Parts availability has gotten trickier since production ended in 2017, so budget accordingly. That said, for the money you can pick these up now, there's nothing else quite like it. It's the motorcycle equivalent of buying a muscle car โ€” all attitude, some compromises, zero regrets on a Sunday morning.

Pros

+Genuinely fast, pulls hard
+Porsche engine is bulletproof
+Head-turning street presence
+Surprisingly competent handling
+Unique within H-D lineup

Cons

-Ergonomics punish long rides
-Parts getting scarcer yearly
-Rear tire clearance issues
-Heavy at low speeds
