Used Buyer Review

The VRSC Muscle is Harley's odd duck โ€” a water-cooled Revolution engine developed with Porsche that produces genuine performance numbers. Used examples are plentiful and prices have softened considerably, making this one of the better value propositions in the HD lineup right now. The 1250cc V-twin pulls hard between 3,000-8,000rpm in a way no air-cooled Harley can touch, and the stance is genuinely aggressive rather than just cosmetically so. That said, know what you're buying. The low seat looks cool until you're stuck in summer traffic and your thighs are cooking against that wide rear tire. Maintenance costs run higher than traditional Harleys โ€” this engine needs dealer attention more often, and parts availability has tightened since production ended in 2017. Check the radiator carefully on higher-mileage bikes and look for fork seal weeping, both common issues. For the money, especially in the $7,000-$10,000 range, you're getting serious performance wrapped in a head-turning package that still carries the H-D badge. Just don't expect it to feel like anything else in the catalog.

Pros

+Porsche-developed engine pulls hard
+Head-turning aggressive styling
+Depreciation mostly absorbed already
+Surprisingly capable canyon performer
+Solid resale value retention

Cons

-Blistering heat in traffic
-Parts getting harder to find
-Higher dealer servicing costs
-Heavy for its wheelbase

You hate heat, dealer bills, or tall seats
