Harley-davidson Pan America 1250 Special Review
"A genuinely competitive ADV bike that silenced every doubter Harley had."
Key Specs
Used Buyer Review
The Pan America Special is genuinely impressive hardware for a first-generation Harley adventure bike. The semi-active suspension, cornering ABS, and adaptive ride height system work remarkably well in practice โ this isn't badge-engineered nonsense, it actually competes with the GS and Tiger 1200. Used examples from 2021-2022 need scrutiny around the fuel pump recall and early ECU gremlins, so verify dealer service history before handing over cash. The 1252cc Revolution Max engine pulls hard and sounds properly purposeful without the vibration tax you'd pay on older Harleys. That said, the Special commands a premium over the base model for tech you may not fully use. Check the heated grips, cruise control, and cornering lights are functioning โ electronics on early units could be temperamental. Dealer support is better than critics predicted, and parts availability has improved significantly. Weight is a genuine consideration at 245kg wet; shorter riders will feel it immediately despite the ride height adjustment.
