Bmw R 1250 Rs Review
"The thinking rider's sport-tourer — fast, refined, and genuinely rewarding."
Used Buyer Review
The R 1250 RS is BMW's best-kept secret — a sport-tourer that actually does both jobs properly. That ShiftCam engine is genuinely brilliant; tractable and torquey around town, then properly urgent when you crack it open on A-roads. The fairing works hard enough that you can cruise at motorway speeds without arriving exhausted, and the chassis rewards smooth, committed riders rather than punishing them. It's a proper grown-up motorcycle. Buying used, check the service history religiously — these need dealer attention and costs add up fast. Inspect the TFT screen for scratches and verify the Dynamic ESA suspension is functioning correctly; repairs aren't cheap. Shaft drive means no chain anxiety, but inspect the final drive for any weeping seals around 40,000 miles. Earlier 2019-2020 examples had minor throttle-by-wire glitches that firmware updates usually sorted. Avoid anything with patchy paperwork or missing service stamps. A well-maintained example is genuinely outstanding value against new pricing. Just budget realistically for running costs — this isn't a cheap bike to own.
