Apa yang Harus Diketahui Pembeli

🔧

Shaft drive, low upkeep

The XJ750's air-cooled DOHC four is famously durable, and its shaft final drive means no chain to oil, adjust or replace. Many engines pass 60,000 miles with just regular oil and valve-shim checks.

⚠️

Check charging and starter clutch

Weak stators and regulator/rectifiers are the classic XJ fault, so test for 13.5–14.5V at idle-plus-revs and look for melted connectors. Also listen for a grinding or slipping starter clutch, a known and labour-heavy repair.

💡

YICS and Seca tech

The XJ uses Yamaha's YICS swirl-induction heads, so carbs must be synced with the YICS passage blocked off or you'll never get it right. Seca models also offered early-80s novelties like anti-dive forks and an LCD dash, which boosts collector appeal but means pricey, hard-to-find electronics.
