The Fazer 250 is one of those bikes that rewards patience and punishes impatience equally. That 249cc parallel-twin pulls cleanly from about 6,000rpm but you're working the gearbox constantly in traffic, hunting for that narrow powerband. It's not slow exactly — more like deliberately paced. The half-fairing does a genuinely decent job at highway speeds, keeping wind blast off your chest better than you'd expect from something this small. Used examples need careful inspection around the cooling system and throttle bodies — previous owners who skipped service intervals create headaches fast. Check for frayed cables, inspect the fork seals, and wiggle every lever. These bikes attract learners who drop them, so cosmetic damage is almost guaranteed on anything under $3,500. Mechanically though, the engine itself is surprisingly tough if it's been fed fresh oil regularly. For a budget commuter or newer rider building confidence, it genuinely makes sense. Just don't expect to enjoy it on a weekend canyon run — it'll frustrate anyone who's ridden anything with real midrange grunt.
