The Sym Jet Sl 125 has a top speed of 95–100 km/h (estimated; note: varies slightly by market and configuration), produces 8.8 hp and weighs 108 kg. Motoryk rates it 7/10.

🔧

Proven Reliable Engine

The SYM Jet SL 125 uses a fuel-injected single-cylinder engine known for low maintenance costs and strong longevity when serviced regularly. It's a popular choice for daily commuters who want minimal workshop visits.

⚠️

Watch the Variator Belt

The CVT drive belt is the most common wear item on this scooter and should be inspected every 8,000–10,000 km. A worn belt causes sluggish acceleration and is an easy, inexpensive fix if caught early.

💰

Steady Resale Value

SYM scooters hold their value reasonably well in the 125cc commuter segment due to a reputation for build quality above their price point. A well-maintained Jet SL 125 retains around 60–70% of its value after two years.

7.2/10

Pros

+Fiabilité mécanique exceptionnelle à long terme

7.0/10
Idéal pour
City commuters wanting reliable, cheap daily transport

"A sensible, durable urban scooter that earns its modest reputation honestly."

$1,500-$2,800 used

The SYM Jet SL 125 is one of those scooters that quietly does everything right without ever demanding your attention. For urban commuting it's genuinely competent — the fuel injection starts cold without drama, the underseat storage swallows a full-face helmet, and the disc brake up front gives you actual confidence in the wet. SYM's build quality has improved massively over the past decade, and these things hold together remarkably well if the previous owner wasn't an idiot about servicing. That said, go in with realistic expectations. The 125cc single runs out of breath around 60mph indicated, so dual carriageways are a white-knuckle affair. Check the variator rollers on anything over 8,000 miles — they wear and kill top-end performance noticeably. Also inspect the exhaust header for rust bubbling near the collector; it's a known weak point on earlier examples. Grab a service history, check for crash damage around the fairing lowers, and you'll likely walk away with a solid, low-drama machine.
