מה הקונים צריכים לדעת

🔧

Bulletproof bored-out ZX-6 engine

The 599cc inline-four is essentially a detuned late-80s ZX-6 motor and is famously long-lived, with many examples passing 60,000–80,000 miles on nothing but regular oil changes and valve-clearance checks. Carburettors (four Keihin CVKs) can gum up on bikes left standing, so budget for a clean and balance on a neglected example.

⚠️

Check corrosion and rear shock

Kawasaki finish from this era is the weak point: look for furry engine cases, corroded fasteners, rusting downpipes and flaking wheel paint, plus rot in the rear shock linkage and swingarm pivot bearings if grease was never renewed. Also inspect the rectifier/regulator and charging system, and rear caliper seizure from road salt.

💰

Cheap, undervalued sports-tourer

Because it was overshadowed by the ZX-6R, the ZZR600 stayed cheap and is one of the best-value used 600s, offering 140mph performance with a genuinely comfortable riding position, decent fairing protection and luggage-friendly grab rail. Values are flat rather than rising, so buy the best condition example you can find rather than a project.
