Ce que les acheteurs doivent savoir

🔧

Bulletproof carbureted engine

The ZX600 inline-four is one of Kawasaki's toughest motors, regularly passing 60,000–100,000 miles with just oil changes, valve-clearance checks and carb cleaning. Its 1990s-era design means no complex electronics to fail, though the Keihin CVK carbs gum up badly on bikes that have sat for years.

⚠️

Charging system and cam chain

Watch for weak stators and failing regulator/rectifiers — a classic Kawasaki weak point that shows up as dim lights or a battery that won't hold charge. Also listen for cam-chain tensioner rattle at idle, check for corroded fairing fasteners, and expect the original rear shock to be completely worn out.

💰

Bargain with cheap parts

Because the ZZR600 lived in the shadow of the sharper ZX-6R (and was built nearly unchanged into 2008), values stay low — great buying, poor investment. The upside is plentiful cheap used parts and strong ZX-6R interchange, making it a favourite budget commuter, sport-tourer and first track bike.
