Honda CR85R

The Honda CR85R has a top speed of 110 km/h, produces 23 hp and weighs 73 kg.

Introduced in 2003 as the replacement for the long-running CR80R, the CR85R gained a bored-out 84.7cc liquid-cooled two-stroke engine, stiffer 37mm Showa forks and revised chassis geometry. It was Honda's final two-stroke minicross machine, sold through 2007 (including the big-wheel CR85RB 'Expert') before the four-stroke CRF150R took over.

Những điều người mua nên biết

💡

Check which wheel size

The standard CR85R runs 17"/14" wheels for smaller riders, while the CR85RB Expert uses 19"/16" wheels and a taller seat height for growing racers. Expert models command a premium and fit riders up to roughly 160cm comfortably.

⚠️

Hard-raced engine wear

Most survivors were raced hard by juniors, so expect worn piston, crank big-end bearings and a rattly clutch; listen for bottom-end knock and check for a smoking, low-compression top end. Cracked radiators, bent subframes and stripped kickstarter splines are also common on crashed examples.

🔧

Frequent two-stroke rebuilds

Plan on a piston and ring change every 15–20 hours of racing and a bottom-end inspection around 40–50 hours, plus 32:1–40:1 premix fuel and regular gearbox oil changes. Keep the HPP power valve and reed cage clean of carbon and inspect the air filter after every ride.
