Harley-davidson Softail Slim

The Harley-davidson Softail Slim has a top speed of 185 km/h (estimated), produces 94 hp and weighs 303 kg. Motoryk rates it 7.5/10.

💰

Strong Resale Value

The Softail Slim consistently holds 70-80% of its value after 3 years, outperforming most competitors. Its timeless bobber styling keeps demand high in the used market.

⚠️

Watch the Primary Chain

Pre-2018 models with the Twin Cam 103 engine are known for primary chain tensioner wear, which can cause rattling and costly repairs if ignored. Always inspect or ask about service history on this component.

🔧

Milwaukee-Eight Reliability Boost

2018+ models upgraded to the Milwaukee-Eight 107 engine, which runs significantly cooler and smoother than the older Twin Cam, reducing long-term maintenance costs and improving overall longevity.

Lo mejor para
Relaxed highway riders who value classic aesthetics

"A characterful, honest cruiser that rewards patient, smooth riders."

$9,000-$16,000 used

The Softail Slim is Harley's most honest retro cruiser — it doesn't pretend to be a sport bike and doesn't apologize for it. The 107ci Milwaukee-Eight (post-2018 bikes) transforms this from a competent cruiser into something genuinely enjoyable, with real torque that rewards lazy throttle work and highway pulls. Pre-2018 Twin Cams are fine but run hotter and vibrate more aggressively at speed. Check the primary chain tensioner on anything pre-2016 — it's a known weak spot that owners quietly ignore until it becomes your problem. Used examples flood the market because Harley buyers upgrade constantly, which means you can find low-mileage Slims for reasonable money. Look for bikes with the stage one upgrade already done — most have it. Avoid anything with suspension modifications unless you know what was fitted. The stock suspension is already mediocre; wrong aftermarket parts make it genuinely dangerous. The 16-inch front wheel looks period-correct but limits steering input significantly compared to bigger-wheeled alternatives.
