Harley-davidson Road Glide Ultra

The Harley-davidson Road Glide Ultra has a top speed of 185 km/h, produces 93 hp and weighs 389 kg. Motoryk rates it 7.8/10.

💰

Strong Resale Value

The Road Glide Ultra consistently holds 70-80% of its value after 3 years, outperforming most touring competitors. Its loyal fanbase and brand prestige make it one of the safer big-ticket motorcycle investments.

⚙️

Watch the Cam Chain

Milwaukee-Eight engines (2017+) improved greatly over the older Twin Cam, but pre-2017 models are known for cam chain tensioner wear that can become costly if ignored. Always request service records and ask specifically about cam tensioner replacement.

🎵

Shark Nose Fairing Advantage

Unlike the Road King or Street Glide, the Road Glide Ultra's frame-mounted fairing reduces head shake at highway speeds and dramatically cuts wind fatigue on long rides. It also houses a premium Boom! Box infotainment system with superior acoustics.

Idéal pour
Experienced riders doing serious interstate mileage yearly

"The best American touring bike if you respect its weight."

$14,000-$24,000 used

The Road Glide Ultra is genuinely impressive touring iron when it's running right, and that's the catch. These bikes carry real weight — pushing 900 pounds wet — so if you're not comfortable with that reality before you buy, walk away now. The frame-mounted fairing is the real differentiator here; it doesn't shake your eyeballs out at highway speeds like the fork-mounted touring bikes, and the infotainment system on 2015+ models is surprisingly usable once you stop fighting it. Buy one from 2017 onward if you can stretch the budget. The Milwaukee-Eight engine addressed most of the Milwaukee-Eight predecessor's heat-soaking complaints, and the suspension finally got serious attention. Pre-2017 Twin Cam examples are cheaper but come with well-documented compensator and primary chain tensioner issues — budget $800-1,200 for that work unless you enjoy surprises. Always check service records, inspect the frame for tip-over damage near the right lower fairing, and listen carefully at idle for primary rattle.
