Harley-davidson Breakout

The Harley-davidson Breakout has a top speed of 185 km/h (estimated; note: not officially published by Harley-Davidson), produces 94 hp and weighs 317 kg. Motoryk rates it 7.2/10.

💰

Strong Resale Value

The Breakout holds its value exceptionally well compared to most cruisers, often retaining 70-80% of its original price after 3 years. Its bold, distinctive styling keeps demand consistently high in the used market.

⚙️

Watch the Primary Chain

Owners frequently report primary chain tensioner wear on Milwaukee-Eight models, which can cause a rattling noise on cold starts. Budget for inspection around 20,000 miles to avoid a more costly repair later.

🛞

Wide Rear Tire Tradeoff

The Breakout's signature 240mm rear tire looks stunning but creates noticeably heavier steering and faster tire wear than standard cruisers. Replacement costs run higher than average — factor in roughly $350–$500 per rear tire.

Évaluation d'un acheteur d'occasion

7.2/10
Idéal pour
Style-focused riders who prioritize boulevard presence daily

"A stunning pose machine that rewards patient, straight-line riders generously."

$12,000-$22,000 used

The Breakout is unapologetically a show bike that actually runs, and you need to make peace with that before handing over cash. That stretched front end and 240-section rear tire look absolutely savage sitting still, but they'll remind you constantly that this wasn't designed for canyon carving. Steering is heavy, ground clearance disappears fast, and anything resembling an enthusiastic corner will have you grinding hard parts. It is what it is — a boulevard cruiser built around a styling statement. That said, the Milwaukee-Eight 114 in later models is genuinely strong, pulling hard from low revs with real character. Highway cruising is surprisingly comfortable once you're settled in, and the build quality on post-2018 bikes is noticeably tighter than earlier Softail-chassis examples. Check for the usual HD suspects — oil leaks at the primary cover, heat-related paint bubbling on the exhaust, and worn front tire edges that suggest the previous owner got ambitious.
