⛽

Fuel strip failures are common

The in-tank fuel level sensor strip is a well-known weak point and often reads erratically or dies; many owners just track mileage or fit the later float-type sensor. Also check for weeping fuel pump flange seals.

⚙️

DOHC 2010+ is the sweet spot

From 2010 the air-cooled engine switched to twin-cam (DOHC) heads with 110 hp and a stronger clutch, so late K25s command a premium. Earlier 2008–09 hexheads are cheaper but check final drive for oil weeping and rear wheel bearing play, plus driveshaft spline lubrication.

🛑

Check which ABS it has

Servo-assisted Integral ABS (up to 2008 models) is expensive and increasingly hard to repair — a failed pump can cost more than the bike is worth; 2009-on non-servo ABS is far less troublesome. Otherwise these bikes hold resale value exceptionally well thanks to huge parts and aftermarket support.
